About Randonnée
What Our Travelers Say
"[Randonnée] offered what we wanted, where we wanted, when we wanted." and "Tour was excellent. Organization good (riding instructions were almost too detailed). Island hosts and managers were all great." Gulf Island Cycling - Ross and Di, Australia
"There was not a single glitch. [Your area managers] were wonderful. We enjoyed both bed & breakfasts - - they were very different but each nice in its own way. You did a great job with the weather too!" and "We had a great time. We are giving your name to our friends." Gulf Islands Multi-sport - Ann and Jim, Florida
"We were in Gulf Islands Heaven! … [the area managers] were wonderful - very accommodating and helpful - and our kayaking experience was superior." Gulf Islands Multi-sport - Janie, California
"I am writing to thank you for the wonderful tour you arranged for my husband and myself. I can honestly say this was by far the best vacation we have ever taken! As my husband puts it, this was the first time he has been on a trip where he didn't want to go home by the end of it." and "… the trip exceeded all our expectations and hopes and we will highly recommend you to as many people as we can think of. Your staff has been extremely helpful in putting together a custom trip for us and has cheerfully answered our plethora of questions along the way. The trip was well thought out and the information we were provided with was comprehensive and extremely helpful. I wouldn't consider going on a trip like this without going through Randonnée. In fact, I fear that any other kind of vacation is now ruined for us, so I just hope you are going to be around for a long, long time." Rockies Cycling - Richard and Alissa, California
“All of our host went beyond our expectations. Breakfasts were spectacular. Judith on Mayne Island was exceptionally nice, accommodation simple, comfortable, host intelligent, thoughtful and great cooks! Great balance of small city (Victoria), Small Island (mayne) and something in the middle (Salt Spring). Also had variable biking conditions (some flatter, some hillier) and we enjoyed kayaking in Mayne Island. The area managers were terrific. They really went out of their way for us.”
J. weil – Gulf Island Cycling
“All of our accommodations were great – especially the lyall harbour B&B. The food was delicious and the family made us feels very much at home. Everything was great!”
F. Panico – Gulf islands hiking
“I wanted you to know that we had the absolutely best time on our trip to the Gulf Islands. Your planning was perfect, the hikes were varied and inspiring, the B&B were all great – the one in Victoria so beautiful and elegant. The islands are beyond gorgeous, and we cannot wait to come back and explore more. Each day got better and by the time we got to Saturna we never wanted to leave!
We loved all the accommodation; especially Lyall Harbour.
The service provided by Randonnée was excellent. We felt very well taken care of and very efficiently organized. And we knew we had someone available if we needed help at any point. Eve Cabanel was wonderful. Thank you so much for all your help and support. It was an amazing introduction to a wonderful part of the world, and we will definitely visit again”.
V. Lusbader - Gulf Island Hiking
“The scenery was magical. Just when we thought we had seen the most beautiful lakes, we saw lakes just as beautiful, but with a glacier and waterfall added! We liked the difficulty of the tour. We were looking for a challenge we couldn’t get at home. The rivers and mountains made all the uphills a pleasure.”

"Yours is a first-class operation start to finish. This was my 8th trip to France (I lived there 20 years ago) and had never done anything like this before, but always wanted to. I knew I was in good hands with Randonnée from the start - your company is so organized, thorough and professional - it made for a no-hassle, no-worry, truly memorable experience."
Sharon, Arizona, Dordogne cycling
"[Area manager] told my Grandma (Barbara) that I'm the youngest person ever to do that tour. It was a lot of fun but also sometimes it got harder. I went up the hills faster than my Grandpa (David)! This tour also had tons of pretty sights to see, especially around the castles and rivers!!" "This trip was one of the great experiences of my life, and I have tears in my eyes as I write this - I am a sentimental Irishman - I will never forget this wonderful fairyland, the sites, the flowers, the people, the food, the rivers the weather, etc. etc. The experience will hold a special place in my heart forever!" "My sentiments exactly!"
12-year-old Jessica, David & Barbara, British Columbia, Dordogne cycling

“The food at all places was fabulous and I felt very good value. I found the whole area fascinating. I would recommend Madeline north of les Eyzies. I thought it was just about perfect. I was just tired at night but never exhausted. I thought that the drivers were respectful of cyclists. The Area manager was very helpful. He met us on the first evening and gave us a briefing as well as setting up the bikes. We loved the Hostellerie de la Bouriane in Gourdon. M duchamps (the owner) was a lovely man and very helpful. He made us feel at home.”
N. Valentine – Dordogne cycling 7 days
‘The pre- tour material was very helpful. It provided a good background of the history of the area. It was also helpful in preparing for what to expect travel wise and what to bring on the trip ect, how to pack, ect… The tour was great. The trails were a good mix of level of difficulty with breathtaking scenery! Service was excellent! The Randonnée staff in the home office was also excellent in answering all my questions, getting us set up with the tour, providing information and in general providing excellent service with a pleasant attitude. The trip was really great. I loved it. It was a wonderful experience and I would do it again in a heartbeat!”
L. Devine – Dordogne 9 days walking
“The Tour directions were easy to follow and provided interesting information. The bikes were great. Loved the saddle bags for jackets and such, as well as the bag on the handle bar which could be unclipped and taken along to see the sights.
The hotel Pont de Louysse in Lacave was faboulous. The grounds with their varied outdoor garden rooms and beautiful flowers were spectacular. We sat outside around the pool and also beside the fallen bridge. It was very poetic. Out room was beautifully decorated with French country bed linens and antiques furniture. The large bed was heavenly. The food at their restaurant was probably the best we had during our entire stay in Europe- It was superbly prepared and presented, and it tasted so good that I will always remember it.
The hotel in la roque Gageac, La belle etoile was also lovely. We had a well appointed room overlooking the Dordogne river and could watch the cruise boats and conoes going up and down as well as people moving about. The hiking and canoeing were beautiful and well within our abilities.
The Area manager transported our bags daily and brought and picked up our bikes. He was very prompt and efficient. He was also generous enough to allow Marie to ride with him on the last day.
We were blown away by the natural beauty of the area, the chateaus, the castles, the caves and rock formations, and the staggering amount of pre-history. Each fortified town seemd more amazing than the next. Our Trip took us through rural towns and hillsides where we ate apples and figs from wild trees and blackberries from hedges. We also got to taste the bountiful harvest of walnuts just lying on the grounds. And the meals were incredible. They are serious gastronomes in the southwest France!”
M. Bradby – Dodorgne Multsport
“The accommodations were the best! Nicest people and places in the world. Our favorite is Les vielles Tours, the hotel operator is one of the nicest people I have ever met. The area manager is a great guy. He even found a copy of the new harry potter book on the release date for our daughter and delivered it to us. He is fantastic.”

“All 3 locations were beautiful and the hotels were lovely. The people at all the locations were very gracious and helpful. The manager at the Hotel Bourianne was particularly nice. "We...wanted to thank you personally for an absolutely perfect tour of Provence. We were able to absorb so much of the sights and sounds of this beautiful area and enjoy a completely relaxing vacation thanks to the efforts of you and your staff who arranged all the details so capably and thoroughly. We were delighted that most of our walking was on trails and dirt paths, and we found the routes to be accurately described and well marked. All of our accommodations were excellent, each with its unique charm and features and all with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The variety of towns and villages which we stayed in and walked through gave us a good overview of Provence, even though we covered a relatively small area."
