November 2010
2010 has been a very successful year at Great Explorations with trip bookings up over 50% from 2009. Thank you to all that traveled with us! I was able to join trips in Vietnam in January, the Gulf Islands in June, the Tour de France, Kettle Valley Trail in July, and then Tuscany and Puglia in September, and Turkey in October. See photos for Vietnam, Tour de France, Turkey, and Puglia by clicking on each. 2011 bookings are up considerably again. Despite the strength of the Euro against the $US, we are holding any increase in prices off until January so book now to enjoy savings.
As in all of our trips, you’ll find our prices are 20-50% less than other tour companies. With over 20 years experience, small group sizes, only the best in equipment, unique itineraries & exceptional guides, we invite you to consider Great Explorations in 2011.

Kettle Valley Trail, British Columbia
The Kettle Valley route that we pioneered in 1997 is now officially part of the Trans-Canada Trail and it is a trip that Outside Magazine once rated as one of the 'top 25 trips on the planet'. In 2011, we will again be donating $500 to thebigwild.org which helps protect Canada’s wild places. Here is what 79 yr old George Smekal said after completing this trip in 2010: “What I enjoyed most about the trip was the guides-nothing was too much for them and the food quality and quantity was 1st class. It's hard to improve on perfection.”
July 16-22* donation to theBigWild.org
Aug 15-21* coinciding with the Princeton Folk Festival
