You start in Vaison-la-Romaine, a delightful town snuggled in green hills in the heart of Provence.

Vaison lies about 650 km southeast of Paris, due east of Orange.

Access is via either Orange or Avignon. Both can be reached via the TGV (high-speed rail network of France), and are only a three- to four-hour journey from Paris.

These towns can also be reached by air or from other gateway cities such as Lyon or Nice. Transfer to Vaison is via public or private transportation.

Discover the perfection of hiking in Provence. This tour provides a microcosm of all the famous characteristics of Provence: Roman ruins, perched or hanging villages painted pastel hues, artists’ colonies in the scenery which inspired them, and a vibrant culture best expressed in the colourful and busy markets.


	Hôtel Le Burrhus Vaison-La-Romaine This hotel overlooks a pretty square right in the heart of Vaison. The hotel has been recently renovated, and often hosts art exhibits in the hotel’s lounges.
	Les Flôrets Gigondas With a superb location at the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail guests enjoy views from a shaded terrace. This hotel has been owned and operated by the same family for three generations.
	Les Geraniums La Barroux This small and charming hotel and restaurant are in a beautifully renovated building with rooms enjoying views over the countryside. The atmospheric restaurant boasts wonderful food.
	La Demeure de Manon Malaucene This 18th century residence has been meticulously restored with tasteful antiques and artwork. The light, airy rooms are decorated in calming muted colours. The gardens surround a lovely sunny pool area. or Domaine des tilleuls

	L' Evêché Vaison-La-Romaine This is a huge house, but the proprietors only rent out five rooms to spend more time with their guests. There are great views of the old town and the castle, and each of the rooms are individually decorated.
	La Ravigote Gigondas This lovely farmhouse is simple and comfortable with a great location. The proprietors are friendly and have decorated in Provencal style.
	Mas de la Lause Le Barroux This b&b has a lovely garden and grounds. The colourful rooms are named after the typical flowers of Provence.
	La Demeure de Manon Malaucene This 18th century residence has been meticulously restored with tasteful antiques and artwork. The light, airy rooms are decorated in calming muted colours. The gardens surround a lovely sunny pool area.

	Hotel Beffroi Vaison-La-Romaine Located on a precipice in the medieval village this chateau features lovely gardens and a pool. It is in one of the most beautiful 16th century mansions in the Old City of Vaison and you can enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding old houses and countryside.
