Maui 7 days
Looking for somewhere to travel during the months between November and April? Look no further than Hawaii and the island of Maui. It’s our favourite island for many reasons: it has reliably warm and sunny climate, great cycling, and plenty of other non-biking water sport activities to fill your days including surfing, stand-up paddle-boarding, and outrigger canoeing. You will see whales, loggerhead turtles, birdlife and more. We’ve designed this itinerary to have you stay in Kihei, on the Napili Coast in West Maui, and Pa’ai to give you access to the best riding (without requiring shuttles) and to allow you to experience the variety of this island.

Mana Kai, Kihei

We’ve been staying here for years and think it is one of the best kept secrets on Maui. Recently renovated with contemporary décor, large pool this hotel is just meters from the ocean and a dramatic stretch of beach. We like the bar and restaurant on site also!

Maui Coast Hotel, Maui

Located across the street from the beach in Kihei, this hotel has all the amenities one would want, including a very nice swimming pool and large well designed rooms. (Maui Coast is an alternate to Mana Kai and you have a choice between the two)

The Mauian on Napili Beach

We chose this hotel for its location and small number of rooms. Built in 1960, it has a nice swimming pool and you can walk to several excellent restaurants.

The Paia Inn, Pa'ai

This hip hotel is right  on the main street in Paia and has the advantage that you are right in town. Rooms are smartly designed with flat screen tvs, and the common rooms invite guest socializing. Rooms are smallish but everything else about this boutique hotel (only 14 rooms) is hip-heavenly. There is no pool, but Baldwin beach is a short walk away.

Mariott Wailea

Adjacent to Ulua beaches and just steps from the Shops at Wailea, this hotel has 3 on site restaurants, beautiful swimming pool and spa facilities.

Ritz Carlton
The hotel rises on a knoll, in a singularly spectacular setting between the rainforest and the sea. It reopened in 2008, after an extensive $160- million renovation- you can now enjoy a 10,000 square foot, 3-tired pool and 17,500-square-foot Waihua Spa.

Lumeria, Pa'ai
This is the newest boutique hotel on Maui and is located up Baldwin Avenue between Paia and Makawao. Restored from a historic plantation property by Xorin Balbes, for those seeking quiet, food comes from its own organic garden, yoga classes are offered daily and the vibe is definitely new-age upmarket hip. There will be a new pool in early 2013 and the restaurant is highly regarded.
